THE complexity of the Common Agri­cultural Policy and the question of whether or not to stay in the EU were among issues raised by farmers at a hustings hosted by the Alton and Petersfield branch of the National Farmers Union on Tuesday.

In the firing line at Petersfield Golf Club were four of East Hampshire's prospective Parliamentary candidates – Damian Hinds (Conservative), Richard Robinson (Liberal Dem­ocrat), Peter Baillie (UKIP), and Peter Bissett (Green Party).

Alex Wilkes (Labour) had been invited but was unable to attend.
