AROUND 250 people enjoyed the inaugural Live at Newent Lake Festival on Sunday.
Continuing the tradition set by the pupils from Newent Community School, the Soundscape Community Music Association brought together a number of local musicians to provide a concert of diverse music.
Among the acts were nine-year-old guitarist Kai Haines as well as Picklenash School Orchestra and Maybelles Harmony Singers. There were also young ukulele players, Glevum Swing Band performing old tunes, and Tom Wirth Blues.
Newly-formed band Smith, Smith and Smith entertained festival-goers with their guest guitarist and bongos performance. The family-based band, headed by dad Neil, was accompanied with his sons.
Cllr Colin Thomas, who opened the show, said: "Judging by the comments from the 250 people or so who attended, and the beautifully sunny weather, this was a very successful festival and is set to continue well into the future.
"Soundscape wish to thank all the companies that supported the event including Two Rivers, Steve Gooch Estate Agents and Toucan Estate Agents as well as many local businesses. Some of the funds raised will go to Wills Music Hub, Chill Out, Newent Skate Park and other local good causes."
