Cornwall Farmers have supported Thorne Manor and their latest adventure. Thorne Manor Day Nursery and Pre-School, which is set within 360 acres of fields and woodlands near Holsworthy, will shortly obtain Forest School status, which will mean they will be able to gain recognition for following the Forest School ethos. Although the holiday club has been able to access the woodlands and undertake den building, camp fires and many woodland activities, the nursery have not extended these activities to the younger pre-school children until recently. Sid Badham (Early Years Practitioner/Forest School Leader) has been taking a small group of children down to the woods each week introducing them to many of the wonders of the forest, from making mud monsters to naming the trees and pond dipping for tadpoles. Jenny Callow who manages Cornwall Farmers in Holsworthy has been a keen supporter of Thorne Manor Day Nursery and Pre-School providing the children with an insight into planting seeds and the gardening equipment the store provides for children and their families. Cornwall Farmers have kindly agreed to sponsor wet weather gear for the children to wear when they are doing their woodland activities.
