The Bude and District Probus Club held the first meeting at its new venue, The New Inn at Kilkhampton last Thursday. The club is designed for gentlemen of a 'certain age.' The only real requirement for membership is to be either retired or semi-retired. The club holds meetings twice monthly on Thursday mornings. These meetings normally have a guest speaker and either coffee or lunch. There are also external visits to places of interest and visits to other Probus Clubs. The club currently has around 40 members. The club has very recently changed its meeting place to The New Inn, and lunch was enjoyed by 31 members last Thursday. Keith Taylor, honorary secretary of the club, said: "We welcome new members who would like to be part of this very happy and thriving local club."
