DRIVERS in and around Launceston are set for disruption as works are scheduled for a stretch of the A30.

National Highways have announced that they will be undertaking multiple resurfacing and maintenance schemes along a stretch of the A30 which passes the North Cornwall Town.

These works are set to last a number of months.

The organisation responsible for the country’s roads - which was previously known as Highways England - will be carrying out three resurfacing and maintenance schemes along the westbound carriageway of the A30, between Liftondown and Polyphant between early November and January.

It has been expressed that work will be undertaken on weeknights only, and will take place under overnight closures between the hours of 8pm until 6am, including some overnight convoy working.

Speaking to the Post, a spokesperson from National Highways explained: “During the overnight westbound closures, clearly signed diversion routes will be in place, and work will be paused for the Christmas holidays, resuming again in January.”

While this has been announced, exact dates are yet to be set.

The spokesperson continued: “The work programme is still being finalised and further details will be available in due course.”
