Another classic screening and this Sunday, February 18 has Pat’s Film Club delivering a double bill with Moonrise Kingdom and Harold and Maude.

Moonrise Kingdom is a Wes Anderson special when two somewhat isolated 12-year olds become friends and then fall in love, they take the drastic action of escaping to the wild to be together. The film has an amazing cast as usual with Bruce Willis, Bill Murray Frances McDormand and of course Tilda Swinton all on board.

Harold and Maude is the 1971 Hal Ashby movie that features a young man with a morbid fascination and a rather obsessive fascination with death. So much so he attends as many funerals as he possibly can.

On his regular outings he befriends Maude, another funeral goer, but one that likes to celebrate life and fast approaching eighty, Maude is trying to enjoy what time she has left. A very unusual friendship and bond develops between the two and they are opposites in so many ways but they somehow have a great understanding of one another.
