The icy weather conditions and freezing temperatures resulted in the postponement of the December meeting of the Coads Green WI from the evening of Tuesday, December 14, to the brighter afternoon of Friday, December 16.

The December meetings call on the skills of its members and Barbara Sleep was asked to lead a workshop on arrangements for the Christmas table or welcoming wreaths for the front door, for the second year running.

Barbara guided members through the use of different kinds of foliage to create a display, which could be decorated with pine cones, pieces of orange, cinnamon sticks, baubles, lights and candles. The result was a stunning array of seasonal arrangements to be taken home.

There was a shared tea at the end of the afternoon.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 11, at 7.30 p.m. when local historian, Terry Faull, will be delivering a talk on the lives of Mary Broad and Mary Delaney.
