Hailed as a marathon 'starman', Pembrokeshire's David Phillips, an accountant by trade, has certainly totted up his fair share of fundraising over the years.

A member of the Pembrokeshire Harriers and the Massey Ferguson Runners in Coventry, David, who divides his time with his family living in Penally and Warwickshire, recently took on his 450th full marathon when he successfully completed the London Marathon in aid of the Daily Telegraph's Brain and Spine Foundation charity team.

"I did my 450 marathon in 5 hours and 15 minutes and raised £8k for the Brain and Spine Foundation charity, bringing my total for them to £86k - so 50 more marathons to go to reach my target of 500 and £14k to go if my accountant's maths is correct!" said David, whose next main fundraising run will be London 2016.
