MARATHON runner Martin Parnell visited Launceston Rotary Club at its recent meeting and gave a talk on his Rotary Coastal Quest 630.
Martin, who was educated in Cornwall and now lives in Canada, is in the process of running the South West Coast Path, covering 630 miles in 25 days in support of Right to Play.
He set off from Minehead on Tuesday, March 4 and aims to finish in Poole on Tuesday, April 1. The route will pass through two World Heritage Sites, the Dorset and East Devon coast.
Martin's aim is to complete the UK's ultimate challenge for the long distance runner — a 630-mile quest in just 25 days, averaging a distance of a marathon a day and covering the equivalent elevation of climbing Mount Everest four times over.
