Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed they have identified an individual they want to speak to in connection with an attempted robbery in Bude.

In February, officers put out an appeal for information from the public to help identify a male captured on CCTV they wanted to speak to in connection with the incident.

The attempted robbery occurred at around 2.30 am on Sunday, November 20 outside the Premier Inn, on the Strand in Bude.

However today (March 29), Devon and Cornwall Police issued an update to confirm the man had been identified.

A spokesperson said: "Police have identified a man they wanted to speak to in connection with a report of an attempted robbery in The Strand, Bude on Sunday 20 November.

"It follows a photo appeal issued by the force on Monday 27 February.

"Officers would like to thank members of the public for their support."
