A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal collision on the A30 in the late evening of Thursday, May 2.
Emergency services comprising police, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, the ambulance service and Cornwall Air Ambulance were called to reports of an incident on the A30 at Plusha, near to Bodmin Moor Services, at around 10.25pm, involving a Honda Civic and a Range Rover Evoque.
A 38-year-old man, a passenger in the Honda Civic, died at the scene of the incident, with the driver of the vehicle, a man aged 45, arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving offences comprising death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Three other people involved were taken to Derriford Hospital after the incident with injuries, with one reported to be in a serious condition by Devon and Cornwall Police.
The two occupants of the Range Rover Evoque were taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital with injuries described as minor.
The incident led to the A30 being closed for multiple hours while police investigated the scene, with an appeal for information also being launched.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision on the A30 near Launceston.
“Officers were called to the area of Plusha, near to Bodmin Moor Services, on Thursday, May 2, at around 10.25pm.
“Police, fire, ambulance and Cornwall Air Ambulance all attended the scene where two cars were involved - a Range Rover Evoque and a Honda Civic.
“Sadly, a 38-year-old man, who was travelling in the Honda died at the scene. His next of kin are aware. Three other people travelling in the vehicle were taken to Derriford Hospital, including one casualty in a serious condition.
“The driver of the Honda, a 45-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody at this time.
“The two people from the Range Rover were taken to Treliske Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
“Officers from Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team attended the incident and carried out a detailed investigation of the scene. Some cordons remain in place while emergency services are still in attendance.
