LYDNEY Town Hall will be the venue for a weekly market as volunteers work to put the building on a sound financial footing.
The first of the markets will take place this Sunday (July 12) with some 30 traders expected.
The event is being organised by Steve Stockham of Lydney who has some 30 years experience in markets.
He said: "There will be a wide range of traders from antiques to general dealers and hopefully there will be something for everyone."
Chairman of the voluntary committee, Colin Knight is hoping the weekly market will raise the profile of the hall.
He said: "We want to give people who may not have been here before a reason to come and see inside.
"Hopefully they will see that there is a lot more going on here than just the market.
"We've had a tough time but there are plans that will secure the future of this important building for Lydney."
