Councillor Richard Mayo is pushing a Notice of Motion which he is presenting to the Ross-on-Wye Town Council for the grass to be cut in Ross-on-Wye along the riverside more regularly.
As a part of the ongoing Asset Transfers, handing over assets from County Council to Ross Town Council, the area of land by the riverside would fall back to the responsibility of Ross Town Council. This transfer is scheduled in around a month's time, and Councillor Richard Mayo is keen to get the area properly looked after more regularly; ideally, he said the grass should be cut every two weeks, rather than once every month.
Cllr Mayo told the Ross Gazette: "I am as frustrated as everyone else at the state of our parks and that is why I think it is time the Town Council took action. The river side parks and the Crossfields park are due to be transferred to the Town Council as part of the Asset Transfer in the very near future but as we all know sometimes these things can take longer than expected."
