Last Friday, two pupils from the Pembroke area attended the Rotary award ceremony at the Welsh National Assembly, Cardiff. Caera Lewis from Pembroke Dock Community School won the South Wales Area 'Young Writer' competition and she was presented with her award by Mr. Andrew R. T. Davies AM. Caera's winning entry will be submitted to the Rotary National Final which covers the whole of the UK.

Poppy Cummine from Golden Grove Community School was also presented with an award for being in the top three in the 'Young Photographer' competition.

Local Rotary organiser, Mr. Dennis Jones, was delighted with the success of these two young pupils and thanked the headteachers and staff for their enthusiastic support.

He said: "Pembroke Rotary are delighted to support and help young people in local schools to develop their potential as literacy skills are of prime importance."
