In the recent heavy snow fall, a Lifton-based firm came to the assistance of the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary in the form of an all terrain 4x4 vehicle. Tinhay Building Supplies, of Lifton, loaned a 4x4 all terrain vehicle to the local patrol officers at Launceston Police Station, who put the vehicle to good use in places a normal patrol vehicle would have been no use at all. Company directors Paul Davies and Robert Sorrell were more than willing to assist the local constabulary at Launceston with the use of the vehicle they had at their disposal. On day one, and within the first hour, the vehicle was used for the search of a vulnerable missing elderly man in the Camelford area. As you can see from the picture (above), this vehicle reached places others would not have been able, ensuring a wider area search was completed a lot quicker. Over the following week the vehicle was used on many occasions in arduous conditions. The constabulary has expressed thanks to Tinhay Building Supplies for the use of this vehicle and their continued support during this particulary difficult time.
