LOCAL little swimmer Grace Foster, aged only 19 months from Launceston, is drying off after making a big splash this summer at the bi-annual Water Babies Splashathon, in aid of baby charity Tommy's.

Grace joined hundreds of local little swimmers across the county who took the plunge at fun-filled Splashathon events and joined in exciting sponsored pool challenges they had never attempted before. Grace, together with her mum Kate Foster, were the highest fundraisers across Cornwall and South Devon raising over £350.

Mrs Foster said: "Grace absolutely loved the Splashathon, perhaps a little too much as she has spent the whole summer running around in her frog costume. We are really pleased to have raised what we could for such a great cause"

"For many parents, the sight of their baby doing their first solo dip underwater or swimming through a hoop for the first time is a very special moment," explains Kate Evans who runs the baby swimming classes locally."
