Students of St Joseph’s School in Launceston have been getting creative across many of their subject this half term.
For Shrove Tuesday, Year 7 students tried their hands at making pancakes. As well as displaying their brilliant cooking and flipping skills, they also learnt about the tradition of the occasion.
While Year 7 tried cooking, Reception class got creative making their very own teddy bears. With the help of Miss Lee and her sewing machine, children designed and created their own toys. Once all sewn together, they took their new fluffy friends to the Charlie Bears Museum in Launceston.
Finally, Year 9 and 10’s football teams have been showing their creativity on the pitch, taking on Shebbear College.
Luke Medland, football captain at the school explained: “All the lads played brilliantly in our four games against Shebbear U15 and U14s with two 1-1 draws against the U15s and 2-0 and 2-1 wins against their U14s.
“We had strong right side with Tom Stacey driving up the wing to create many chances and Harrison Jones with his sturdy defending. Our star player of the day had to be Will Savage with his unbelievable double save keeping us in the games.
“Overall a great performance for us and we are hoping to see more great performances in the next fixtures. Well done boys.”
