MEMBERS of the Launceston Carnival committee presented a cheque for £740.74, which was the total amount from the street collection on carnival night, October 8.
This year’s evening collection was in aid of the ‘Magic Rainbow Appeal’, which is the charity supported by Charlie Bears, who were this year’s carnival main sponsor.
The cheque was presented to Charlotte Morris, William and Helen Morris from Charlie Bears by Dave Gordon, carnival chairman, Pete Cooper, vice chairman, and Pete Sandercock from the carnival committee.
Dave said: “This year’s carnival was a huge success and we wish to thank everyone who supported the event either financially or otherwise. Carnival does not just happen, the carnival committee work hard to produce a great parade, and thanks to Charlie Bears’ sponsorship, it enabled us to bring forward some new ideas this year, and in return it is a pleasure for us to support the Magic Rainbow Appeal.”
