A care home in Launceston celebrated this week as their team member beat the competition to be crowned National Care Practitioner in the Barchester Care Awards 2023.
Jo Vine at Kernow House said she is “over the moon” to have been named the national winner of the Barchester Care Awards.
Jo said: “I just can’t believe I have been named the national winner! I am so proud and so thankful to everyone who nominated and voted for me. It means the world to be recognised for doing the job I love.”
Jo’s win was announced at a special national award ceremony which took place on October 11.
General manager, Leigh Stanley, said: “This is such a fantastic achievement, to be named the best across the entire Barchester business - the whole home is so proud of her. Jo is such an asset to our home. She always goes the extra mile to ensure she has done the best possible job and our residents have everything they need.”
Jo works alongside the nurses on Millaton unit where she makes sure residents have the best quality of care. She maintains the rota for 55 staff, always ensuring staff have a good work / life balance.
Jo is also a Speak Up Champion for the home and is passionate about delivering the best standard of care. She has recently enrolled in a Foundation Degree for Assistant Practitioners and is already busy studying, when not at work.
