A LAUNCESTON business is celebrating after receiving recognition for their work toward a greener planet.
Corfloors, a carpet and flooring company based in Launceston, has been awarded a national recycling award by Recofloor.
Recofloor awards hope to provide an opportunity for businesses to showcase their company’s vinyl recycling achievements and demonstrate their green credentials.
Corfloors’ warehouse manager, Andrew, was recently recognised for the green work that he does.
The company is involved in a number of recycling efforts including recycling of packaging, cardboard and off cuts of both carpet and vinyl.
Having been members of Recofloor for the last 12 years, which provides a vinyl take back scheme which then recycles the waste vinyl flooring, Corfloors has recycled over 37 tonnes of vinyl.
A spokesperson from the company explained: “To date we have recycled over 37 tonnes of vinyl. 2023 was our best year to date with over 10 tonnes sent for recycling. Our warehouse manager Andrew was awarded the Recofloor Champion Award for his commitment to the scheme.”
Andrew has dedicated himself to educating others on best practices and incorporating Recofloor guidelines into ‘Toolbox Talks’ and fitter inductions.
A spokesperson added: “We are so proud his efforts and hard work have been recognised on a national stage.”
