WAVERLEY leader Robert Knowles has branded sweeping Government changes proposed to planning law which include granting automatic consent for housing on all suitable brownfield sites as "quite outrageous".

In the "second half" of George Osborne's budget last week, the Chancellor declared war on nimbyism and pledged to streamline planning laws in a bid to increase housebuilding as part of a productivity drive.
