POLICE have appealed for information after an attempted armed robbery in Chudleigh Knighton.

The incident occurred aabout 2.30pm on Friday at the post office in the village hall.

A man brandishing what was described as a small knife threatened the sub postmistress and demanded money.

A member of the public challenged the offender who made off empty handed on a bicycle towards Bovey Tracey.

No one was injured during the incident. 

The suspect has been described as a white, thin build, aged in his early twenties and wearing a black cagoule style jacket with the hood up and carrying a black rucksack.
