HM COASTGUARD located a kayaker in Bude after they had been missing for six hours.

A solo kayaker was reported overdue near Bude at around 10.40pm on July 31.

Following reports, several teams were launched in an effort to find the individual.

A search was conducted by two HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopters, Coastguard Rescue Teams from Boscastle and Bude, and the RNLI's all-weather lifeboat from Padstow and inshore lifeboat from Bideford. Devon and Cornwall Police was also alerted.

Thanks to searches, the kayaker was located safe and well at about 5am on August 1 in an operation co-ordinated by HM Coastguard.
