CAMELOT Castle Hotel co-owner, John Mappin, has won an incredible £110,000 after betting that Donald Trump would become President of the United States of America.

When news broke out of Trump Tower that the businessman and entertainment star was going to run for the presidency, not many would have expected him to win the Republican elections, let alone be the man to follow in the footsteps of Barack Obama and become the 45th president of the United States.

However Mr Mappin, who has owned the hotel since 1999 and has always held a high regard for Mr Trump, instantly believed that he could pull it off and placed about 35 bets with William Hill over the course of two years between £3,500 and £5,500.

Mr Mappin said: “When I first heard the news from Trump Tower that Donald Trump was going to run for president I was on baby duty with my newborn baby, it was like a breath of oxygen. I thought to myself that he is someone who’s not going to be 'owned' or be a puppet and that he will be able to help provide a future that my child should have.

“I’m not normally a betting man, I’d only previously ever put one bet on in my whole life. However because of my mathematical analysis system, I was 100% confident that Trump would win and I went to the bookies and placed about 35 bets that he would become the Republican candidate at 20/1 and also win the election, which was at 33/1.”

Mr Mappin continued: “His policies are exactly what is needed for the USA and the world. He’s said that the UK are going to come to the front of the queue and not at the back and that is great news for us.”

Throughout Trump’s campaign, the 70-year-old had to put up with a media barrage and a number of allegations, but Mr Mappin credited Trump for his media skills and also slated the media for their portrayal of him.

He said: “Throughout his campaign the media lost their power.

Throughout there wasn’t one national newspaper, TV or radio station that supported him. They teamed up like a pack of hyenas to dismiss him, destroy him and invalidate him but they completely and utterly failed.

“The people never bought it and through the power of social media Trump was able to succeed in his campaign, without it he wouldn’t have lasted more than three weeks.

“As a result of Trump winning, the mainstream media will never recover, his ability to use social media and Twitter meant he could get his message out to the people and give them his side of the story.

“Mr Trump is a builder and a fixer and loves his people. He wants what’s best for them and is a champion, that’s why I made him a knight of the round table here at Camelot Castle, because of his noble deeds.

“He was drawn to the fact that war veterans weren’t receiving enough medical attention and help when they returned so he raised £6.5-million towards that, which shows what he’s like.

“He’s also going to waive his president salary. This shows how much he’s doing it for the country.”

While his confidence never waned, Mr Mappin was glued to his TV throughout the night as the votes were counted. Ever since Trump’s campaign started, Mr Mappin has publicly voiced his support on social media through his own personal Facebook page as well as through the Camelot Castle TV Network, something he believes helped Trump win the election.

Mr Mappin said: “I was up all night watching it to see if Trump had won. And by 3am when everyone realised that he was going to win, I was having call after call asking for interviews.

“People obviously knew about my support for him through social media and then before I knew it I was just having so many interview requests, I’ve had about two hours sleep a day for the last three days. I’ve done about 400 interviews on it so I’m looking forward to getting some sleep and when I get some time I’ll probably celebrate by opening up a bottle of Trump Vodka.

“It’s great that a little village in the corner of England has helped influence the outcome of the US presidential election.”

When asked about what his plans are for spending the money, Mr Mappin claimed: “I’ve found a solution for depression, which is completely free of medication. I want to work on getting that out there and also improving relations with Russia. Russia is a great country with great people. They are very similar to America.

“I also, in time, want to continue to grow the Camelot Castle TV Network. We’re currently looking to recruit some new exciting young workers who live and breath social media.
