IS Holsworthy one of the rising Devon destinations for 2016? According to a recent poll it is.
A top ten list of destinations in Devon that have seen a year-on-year increase in interest in 2016 has been compiled by Holiday Lettings. Ranked at number nine, beating Exmouth, was Holsworthy.
Jack Johnson, spokesperson for Holiday Lettings , said: “In recent years there’s been a growing demand for less well known areas across the whole of Devon. While places likes Torquay and Plymouth continue to be as popular as ever, we’ve discovered that some destinations, such as Totnes, Bigbury-on-Sea and Dawlish, have seen up to a 150% surge in year-on-year interest through http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/.”
The ten Devon destinations that have seen a year-on-year spike in interest this year, with the percentage of interest they have gained are as follows: 1. Totnes — 150%; 2. Bigbury-on-sea — 89.47%; 3. Dawlish — 84.93%; 4. Seaton — 84.44%; 5. Axminster — 68.75%; 6. Salcombe — 48.15%; 7. Teignmouth — 43.75%; 8. Bideford — 40%; 9. Holsworthy — 35.48%; 10. Exmouth — 35.25%.
Mayor Jon Hutchings said in response to these figures: “This is great news for Holsworthy, however it does slightly amuse me, that the statistics show that this is one of the most deprived areas in the country.”
