ON Tuesday, July 7, at around 10.15 on my way to visit my mum, I was travelling from Coleford down the road between lower Palmers Flat and Fetter Hill when coming in the other direction was a person driving a moped wearing a fluorescent jacket.

Behind him was a large black 4x4 that decided to suddenly overtake the moped at what seemed like top speed.

The person driving it must have seen me coming in the opposite direction otherwise they need to go to Specsavers.

Luckily I was doing 40mph but had nowhere to go other than to hit the bank or go head on into the oncoming vehicle.

I had to swerve towards the bank with the 4x4 still in the middle of the road.

By some complete miracle I managed to scrape past but twisted my neck and hurt my arm.

The  numsky that was driving happily seemed to drive on like a bat out of hell without any concern.

The vehicle had a wheel cover with a picture of a Doberman on and a dog with its head out of the back window.

I was angry and shocked by the incident and what could have happened if I was driving a larger vehicle or going faster.

Next time the vehicle you try running off the road may be bigger than you and could result in someone getting seriously hurt or killed.

It is not the forest roads that are a problem but idiots like you that drive on them.
