Commuters and parents on the school run are set to be impacted as a week of temporary multi-way traffic lights is set to come to one of Holsworthy’s major roads.

Engineering works by BT group, scheduled for just days after the town’s schoolchildren return to their place of education, is set to cause a degree of disruption to the morning and afternoon rush-hour commutes.

The roadworks map for Devon County Council shows that that between Monday, September 9 and Friday, September 13, there will be temporary traffic lights on the A3072 at Victoria Hill, close to Holsworthy Community College from Bude Road and on the adjacent Sanders Lane road.

It is to allow BT to undertake some work on some of their apparatus, namely to clear duct pipe blockages with desilting equipment, in addition to clearing BT manholes and ducting.

Between September 9 and September 18, temporary traffic lights will also be present on Dobles Lane for electricity connection works.

Part of Victoria Hill, near to the council offices, will in addition be closed on October 31 to facilitate other BT works to take place, namely to access the underground structure to enable the connection of a new customer broadband line.
