HOLSWORTHY has been issued with an early Christmas present, with the confirmation that its closed leisure centre will shortly be reopening.

Limited facilities are available at Holsworthy Leisure Centre from December 23, when it will partially reopen.

A spokesperson for Active Torridge, which operates the site said: “Thank you for your patience during the closure of Holsworthy Leisure Centre. Following recent surveys, we need to conduct further works, but we’re pleased to announce our reopening!

“Pay as you go: This will run the same as it did before the closure. Simply head to the usual reception area, and we will take care of everything from there!

“Free Access: From December 23 until the end of December, members can enjoy free access to the pool, gym, and classes (no changing rooms available, but accessible toilets are).

“Group Classes: Reduced timetable will take place at the Scouts Hut nearby.

“Membership Fee: Starting January 2, we’ll reduce the January membership/swimming lessons fee by 15 per cent due to limited facilities.

“Entry Changes: Reception: Main front door for sign-in, parking permits, and bookings.

“Pool Access: Use the top fire exit doors; come bathers ready.

“Gym Access: Via the main door; no access to the balcony or changing rooms.

“Group Classes and Swimming Lessons: Held at the Scouts Hut; please arrive ready for the pool with no shoes allowed on poolside.
