Holsworthy Golf Club professional Dan Wood expressed himself well pleased with his inaugural professional's day on many counts. 168 players took part with the result that £1000 was raised for the Lymphoma Association a fitting end to an excellent day.

Scoring was good for the better ball competition ranging from 47 points to 23 with everyone enjoying the summery weather and the course in great shape. Nigel sFaulkner and partner Adam Curtis came first, 47 points, with a trio taking the minor placings, each with 45 points, necessitating count backs resulting in Steve Kiff and Reg Daniel being second, Ray Holness and Alan Saunders third and R Dennis and J Hope fourth. Pro V balls were awarded to the eleven players who each came in with a 2.

The June Medal was yet another first for Andy Morris, keeping him top of the eclectic table and again the slide rules came out with Andy Lee Thomas and Andy Peat returning nett 68s to sort the positions out.

Phil Heal's 42 points had him well ahead of the field in the Midweek Stableford with Ian Moore second and Robert Dunn third each with 37 points.

The Veterans were down in numbers with several at Exeter playing in the popular Devon Flitch competition however rivalry was as ever very keen for the 4BBB with Eddie Littlewood and Brian Slocombe taking first place with 45 points, three points to the good over Tony Houghton and Chris Hitchens with in third place, a further one point adrift, Mac Cox and Dan Daley.
