ONE of Holsworthy’s most popular groups has thanked local businesses for their support ahead of an upcoming community event.
Holsworthy ‘44, is a not-for-profit community group, set up to fulfill the group’s vision of commemorating the life and times of Holsworthy during the Second World War. This week the group has paid a special visit to thank two local businesses.
Glen Johns on behalf of both Harpers Feeds and Harpers Farm Supplies generously donated £500 from each towards the Holsworthy ‘44 community event that is taking place July 26 to 28 in Stanhope Park Holsworthy. A visit from a ‘Willy’s Jeep’ provided some fun in the sun on Saturday when the presentation took place.
As well as this, Holsworthy ‘44 has received a number of other donations from local businesses, as well as a grant from the Holsworthy Town Council , which was presented by the mayor to the team.
Ria Zoltan, project manager said: “We are truly humbled by the ongoing support and generosity of this community. Which will be rewarded with a fabulous weekend.
“We have been humbled by the amount of support we have received both financially and in goods for raffles. Holsworthy is definitely geared up for it.
“We are planning a military convoy around the town to open proceedings in July before the boxing match evening gets underway.”
