The Douglas Bader Qualifier a greensome was played on May Bank Holiday Monday at Launceston Golf Club with 36 mixed pairs hoping to win a place to play in the next round at Stover later in the year.

The excitement of the day was for Beth Ratcliffe getting a hole in one on the 17th, playing with her husband Derek, this must have helped their score as it resulted in them being the winners with 41 points. There were many 'congratulations' when they celebrated in the clubhouse, and wish them luck at Stover. 2nd Rosemary and John Russell 39pts; 3rd, Julie and Monty Brown 38pts; 4th, Margaret and Richard Garvin 38pts (on back 9); 5th, Mavis and John Wright 37pts; 6th, Joanne Harding and Brian Ben-David 36pts. There were only eight 2s recorded.

Open Mixed Sunday May 10 — 128 competed in the Greensome competition played in fantastic weather, a perfect day with just a slight breeze and warm sunshine, many commenting on how great the course was looking and playing.
