EAST Hampshire's Conservative Parliamentary candidate attended a lively hustings at Liphook village hall last Friday as part of his election campaign.

As well as attracting a healthy number of residents from in and around the parish, the event offered a group of young first-time voters the chance to have their say and quiz Damian Hinds ahead of the General Election on May 7.

They pointed out that young people now fail to engage with politics until they turn at least 18 and only respond to postings on social media. With too many people fighting against the system, young people focus more on individual causes and rarely attend meetings in village halls.
