THERE are desperate calls for help to keep Lydney Town Hall open as it is in 'dire straits'.
Licensee and committee member, Judith Cadogan said the valuable community hub is at 'threat of closure' if they can't find a substantial sum to maintain it.
She said: "I don't want to alarm people and say our closure is imminent – because it's not – but we do need financial support.
"It costs a lot of money to run the place and we are simply not getting enough people through the door to cover costs. We have worked really hard to encourage more people – what we need are volunteers to focus on bringing people in.
"We have some bookings throughout the summer and don't want to scare anyone off thinking we are closing very soon. We are appealing to anyone to help."
Can you help? If so, call Judith on 077 4127 4606.
