WHEELS 2 Work South West (W2WSW), based in Holsworthy, is delighted to announce the launch of its comprehensive new programme of activities to highlight the benefits of electric bicycles in Cornwall.
This is being delivered in partnership with Cornwall Council and funded by the Department for Transport.
W2WSW chief executive Max Jowett said: “We are excited to be working with Cornwall Council to deliver this programme. With the need for personal mobility never greater, but with strong pressures on both transport and the environment, the programme offers an exciting way to showcase the benefits of this ultra flexible way of getting around.”
Nikki Townsend of Cornwall W2W said: “We are thrilled to be part of the delivery of this new initiative. Cycling is part of the future of transport and eBikes will bring this to a much wider range of people with different travel needs.”
Philip Desmonde, Cornwall Council cabinet portfolio holder for transport, said: “Research shows that around a third of journeys made by car are of less than 5km. We want to show people the benefits of using eBikes to encourage them to consider using them for their daily commute, drawing them away from single user car journeys and helping reduce carbon emissions and peak travel time congestion.”
