LAUNCESTON Town Council has expressed thanks to a member of staff for his 30 years of service.

Andrew Frain, senior groundsman, was thanked for his ‘loyal service’ by mayor Cllr Brian Hogan last Tuesday. Mr Frain was presented with a gift from the council.

He expressed his thanks to town councillors and fellow staff, and to his partner, Shirley.

He said the years have gone by quickly: “It was five years ago I met the Duchess of Cornwall — those five years have gone by very quickly.

“It’s been an enjoyable experience. After 30 years I still look forward to coming to work.

“My main job for many years was looking after the cemetery. Through that I have met some wonderful people and still see them now.”
