THERE was plenty of family fun as more than £5,500 was raised at this year's Great Oaks Hospice fete on Saturday.

Dozens of people flocked to the hospice in Coleford to enjoy an afternoon of music, entertainment and children's activities.

Among the many entertaining visitors were Pillowell Silver Band, Wild Oaks Morris Men and Lydney ATC.

Administrator manager, Celia Burton helped organise the event alongside the fete committee. She said: "There were a lot of people and the car parks were full. We had a really good day and raised over £5,500 which all goes back into supporting the work the hospice does to help the community.

"Light rain and showers didn't hinder everybody's fun and most of the money was raised from the raffle which one of stallholders won. Clearwell and Sling Cubs also did a lot of fundraising for us as part of their work towards achieving their community badge.

"We thank everybody for their help and support once again."
