BUDDING young skaters will be able to practise their skills thanks to a new skate park which has officially opened in Holsworthy.
The skate park adjoins Stanhope Park, near the Clifton Heights housing development and has already proved to be popular with young people of the town. It is equipped with ramps, jump boxes, high rollovers and grind rails.
Housing developer Redrow handed over the facility to Holsworthy Town Council at an official opening last week.
Mayor John Allen and deputy mayor Jon Hutchings joined Redrow’s team at the opening where its first eager visitors were welcomed.
Chairman of Holsworthy Parks Committee Cllr Lyndon Piper said: “The town council is pleased that the skate park is being so well used already — it is a great addition to Stanhope Park and will provide extra facilities for young people in the town to enjoy themselves while keeping active.”
