A FOREST grandmother braved one of Britain's longest zipwires to raise money for a centre that helps her grandson.
Glenda Adams, of Aylburton, raised more than £700 for Bobath Cymru, a centre that offers specialist support for children with cerebral palsy – including grandson Woody – and their families.
A large contingent of supporters watched the 70-year-old as she took on the 700-metre wire over the flooded quarry at the National Diving and Activity Centre near Stroat.
She said: "I didn't really fancy stepping off but it was OK."
This Friday (May 22) Woody's dad, Damian is cycling the length of Wales from Holyhead to Cardiff, also in aid of Bobath.
He said: "We have attended the centre with Woody and have received invaluable support to help him maximise his potential.
"The centre is an amazing place."
