As mentioned last week, Penally's gardeners are praying for sunshine between 2 and 6 pm this Sunday, June 28, when they invite visitors to see the results of their year-long labours. This will be the third Penally Open Gardens event. It is held every two years and the first one is remembered for the torrential rain which fell from early morning to late evening but, whatever the weather, in true theatrical style, the show will always go ahead.
Just a mile along the coast from busy Tenby, Penally village has a unique character. Ten or more very different gardens will be taking part and all are within a short walk of the village hall where Cream Teas will be available from 2.30 to 5.30 pm.
Maps showing the locations of the gardens will be available from the hall and the village shop and you can start your viewing at any one. You pay £3 at the first one and this admits you to all the others. Each participating garden will advertise its location with balloons and signs. If you are new to the area and have a Sat Nav, the village hall is at SA70 7PT, or for more information call Mike on 846667.
