Sir, We are writing further to the recent Public Notice announcing Pembrokeshire County Council's (PCC) intention to sell an area of land forming the garden to the south of the former Coal Office building (also known as the Barbeque building) to the Trust Port of Saundersfoot for the purpose of facilitating the regeneration of Saundersfoot harbour front. In addition to those which have been submitted by post and of which we do not yet know the numbers involved, we are able to confirm that 653 letters of objection to the proposed sale were hand delivered to Pembrokeshire County Council and accepted by issue of a receipt on Friday, May 15. Furthermore, 720 letters were hand delivered to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority (PCNPA) this week requesting Tree Preservation Orders are applied to each of the three commemorative trees located within the Barbeque lawn area. We are grateful to the Milford Haven branch of the Royal British Legion who also wrote to PCNPA in support of this request. We are grateful for the support provided by retail/commercial premises within the village kindly agreeing to display posters and act as a collection and return point, individual residents who have distributed and collected letters and also regular visitors to Saundersfoot who downloaded the letters via Facebook. A special mention has to be made of the efforts of Lee Hart who went 'the extra mile' in distributing and collecting letters. It is very much hoped that both letters, distributed and collected in a short period of time will achieve their intended purpose. Save Saundersfoot Coal Office and Adjoining Gardens Campaign
