St Petroc’s School welcomed the Bude community to their expansive sports field on Saturday, June 22 for a ‘bounce-tastic’, ‘tail-wagging’ Summer Fun Day.

Organised by the Friends of St Petroc’s School, the event offered a giant inflatable park, fun dog show, surf simulator, face painting and numerous other activities and stalls.

Blessed by delightfully sunny weather, the event attracted a fantastic number and cross-section of the local community.

The ‘Fun Dog Show’ proved particularly popular, with many entrants in each of the categories.

Having qualified for the final by winning the Most Handsome Dog category, the overall ‘top dog’ and winner of Best in Show was Golden Retriever ‘Jaeger’.

Headmaster of St Petroc’s School, Ben Hilton, was delighted to host the event.

He said: “It’s always a pleasure to welcome the local community into our school and the Summer Fun Day was particularly special, as it was so representative our family ethos. The event truly lived up to its name, thanks to both the sunny weather and the hard work of the Friends of St Petroc’s really coming to fruition.

“I must thank the Friends for their ongoing support of both St Petroc’s School and the wider community; their commitment to both the school and local charities never ceases to amaze me.”
