FORTY years since inception, a North Cornwall pre-school has changed location, supervisors and schedule — but it is still going strong.

To commemorate the 40th anniversary, the children at Kilkhampton Pre-School made a special picture with all their fingerprints.

Before 1974, rural children in the Kilkhampton area could go until primary school without socialising with another child, causing problems and the inability to interact with others.

Resident Janey Bullett asked Joyce Davis to be supervisor of what is now known as Kilkhampton Pre-school, with one regular helper and a rota of parents to cover the three-day week.
