EXETER College has announced that an outstanding student from Bude has been offered a place to study at Cambridge starting in 2018, one of a record breaking 24 students holding offers for Oxford and Cambridge.
Linus Uhlig has been offered a place to study History and Politics at Cambridge.
A total of 17 students have been offered places at Oxford and seven at Cambridge in a diverse range of subjects from Medicine to Law.
An outstanding five students were offered places to study Medicine at either Oxford or Cambridge, two of the most sought after medical programmes in the country.
The successful students are from a variety of schools. A remarkable 71% of students from Exeter College who were invited to interview were successful in being offered a place, far above the national average.
Linus, previously of Budehaven Community School, said: “I feel both privileged and thrilled to be have been offered a place at Cambridge to study subjects I enjoy.
“Everyone at college who helped me with the process was incredibly supportive and I found their advice really valuable. I think Exeter College gave me the best chance of success and I’m enormously grateful for that.”
