MEMBERS of the Foresters Friendly Society from across Devon and Cornwall recently gathered for a highly successful lunch held at the Trethorne Leisure Park at Kennards House near Launceston.

In addition to enjoying a full carvery with various roasts and all the trimmings together with a choice of desserts, a prize charity raffle held at the event raised £123.

The gathering allowed Jenny Furzeland, Devon and Cornwall area’s chief ranger, in effect chairperson, to present David Kempe, a co-ordinator for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, with a cheque for £420 raised by members to which was added the sum raised in the raffle.

Jenny had nominated the MS Society which commissions research in to the neurological condition and offers support to sufferers as her chosen charitable good cause.

Area secretary, Gary Webber from Falmouth said: “What a wonderful achievement coupled with an excellent lunch and venue enjoyed by members of Forester’s Courts from across Cornwall and Devon.”

The Foresters Friendly Society was founded in 1834 and offers the many benefits of a long established Friendly Society with a warm welcome assured for new members of all genders and ages.
