DELABOLE firefighters were kept busy during their recent open evening, despite poor weather conditions and a fire shout!

The event raised £482 for The Fire Fighters’ Charity.

Thick fog and rain did not deter people from coming out to give their support to a fun dog show, smash the crock, raffle and hot dog and burger stall, which was a sell-out.

Delabole station manager Mark Saltern said: “I’m delighted with how the evening went, despite the few minor problems at the start.

“Thanks to all the officers’ families, the many helpers and all those who came along to give their support to the charity.”
