THE first foal of the season has been born at Dartmoor's Miniature Pony Centre, Moretonhampstead. Staff welcomed the colt into the world on Wednesday.

Mum Tinkerbell is doing well and now the search is on for a name for her offspring. Suggestions can be made via the Facebook page, The Original Miniature Pony Centre, or tweeted to @MiniPonyDevon.

The theme is mythology. With another six ponies waiting to give birth stud manager Nick Walker said: 'It's a late start to our foaling season and we have a lot of first time mums.

'We are extremely excited for all of our arrivals this year.'
