A warning has been issued by the fire brigade following a shed fire on Monday.
The alarm was raised at 3.37 pm when two appliances from Carmarthen and one from Whitland attended the blaze in Llangynog.
Firefighters who responded found an agricultural shed containing approximately 400 bales of hay, a boat and light machinery on fire.
The crews used eight breathing apparatus, three main jets, hose reel jets, thermal imaging cameras and small gear to put out the fire and eradicate any further danger.
As a result of the fire, most of the bales were destroyed and the barn was damaged.
Following a number of barn fire related incidents this year, Steven Davies, deputy head of community safety, is issuing the following information: "The subsequent advice should be considered for anyone involved in the production or storage of combustible materials in agricultural premises: hay and straw should be separated from other building; store hay and straw away from public rights of way; keep stacks dry; keep storage to a minimum in livestock buildings; call the fire service if you suspect overheating; have a 12-figure map reference available by your 'phone (available on request)."
