A LAUNCESTON couple will go down in history as having the last wedding reception at the Eagle House Hotel.

Conrad and Shelley Grundy (nee Alexander) tied the knot at Launceston Town Hall on Saturday, April 2.

Their reception was held at the Eagle House Hotel, which has been a popular venue for weddings for many years.

Owners of the hotel have recently been granted planning permission to covert it into a single residential dwelling, and it has been placed on the market.

Shelley and Conrad’s event was the last reception to be held at the hotel.

Shelley said: “We had the best day of our lives and feel privileged to be the last wedding at Eagle House before it is sold. We have had countless messages from guests who are filled with nothing but compliments about our reception.

“Every effort and attention to detail was made to make our evening run smoothly. We can’t thank the current owners enough. It was a day we will remember forever. We wouldn’t have changed a thing.”
