Looking for some thing to do this weekend? Why not head into Launceston for the 2023 Charles Causley Trust Commemorative Festival Weekend.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, writers, artists and other creatives will be leading events in a variety of Launceston town centre locations, including workshops, talks, walks, open mics and creative drop in spaces.

The festivities will begin with an evening dedicated to Charles Causley on Friday, June 30. This will include a welcome from Launceston's Mayor Cllr Helen Bailey, an artistic unveiling by fine artist Jill Swarbrick-Banks, a musical performance from composer Arlo Anwin and a panel discussion, chaired by Sunday Times bestselling author Patrick Gale, which will explore Charles Causley and his influence today.

Then on Saturday, there will be a variety of community activities taking place, including a free children's arts workshop.

This year's festival is especially significant as it will commemorate Charles Causley’s life, legacy, work and influence today, in the 20th year since his passing.
