AN exhibition of poems by Helen Jagger and paintings by Michael Moss officially opened on October 23, at Sterts Art Centre, writes Helen Pusey.

If anyone would like to lose themselves for a few hours, then they will certainly enjoy the work of these two talented people, who demonstrate how the written word and art are united to express local beauty and nature.

There are paintings of scenes such as Golitha Falls, Whiddon Down, Colliford, Bodmin Moor and Lundy, to name just a few.

There are also paintings of birds, such as the swallow on the telephone wire, which express what we all might consider as the ‘birds sit and their feet sucking up our conversation?’

Other breathtaking paintings and poems express Snow in the Wood, Cornish Hedge, Kit Hill and Digging for Lugworms.

This exhibition is not only a chance to appreciate the work of these creatives, but to remind ourselves of the stunning landscape and nature that we may take for granted, and need to visit once more away from every day troubles.

Beautiful limited edition signed books are also available, and the exhibition runs until November 23.
